| Finally I laid my hands on one of the games I was waiting for since E3 announcements! What happens when Tim Burton meets D&D? Epicness. I was going to make this review two days ago, but I just couldn't get myself away from playing this game. It's one of the freshest ideas I have seen since a good while ago, the graphics just tickle me in all the right places, the humor of it makes laugh... even if it offends the player constantly. |  |
Guild of dungeoneering is a turn-based dungeon crawler game, where you don't control the character. Instead of that you build a dungeon around the character and fill it up with dangerous monsters and lure him with treasures, to make sure that he will take the path that you want the hero to take
The game is a mix of rogue-like RPG and simple turn based card game. If you ever played a table top game Munchkin you will love this one! Combat is quite simple when it comes to mechanics, but each class has its own abilities and different cards in their decks which require different play-style.

 | Mechanics of the game are simple, yet entertaining. You control the dungeon with a set of cards like corridors, monster or loot and add those to a few preset rooms to make a path. The building cards remind me of another card game, Carcassonn. The cards can only be placed where they suit, and none of the paths can be removed or replaced. This leads you to some difficult decisions like for example you can rather go get a chest or two and risk the boss awakening and becoming stronger or cut to the chase and kill him before he is at he's full strength. |
The main objective of the player is to get money, expand the guild, recruit new classes and unlock new loot. There is no permanent character leveling up, furthermore I would even say that the heroes are disposable and death of one of them is not a big deal... he will be replaced as soon as he is dead. Rather than that the emphasis is put on developing your guild by upgrading facilities and recruiting new classes of combatant.

Seems simple, but it is anything but! I spent 12 hours on it already and I still didn't unlock the top tire items or characters... Well on the other hand the reason for it I may be that just suck.
