If you are into gaming, even the slightest bit, you probably know that last days were like Christmas for geeks and nerds allover the world. Why? E3 of course! There was so much content and so many games reveled that I don't think it is possible to make one column about them all. I am also quite sure that nobody has a whole day to see a full review of every title presented on the fair, but I have some favorite upcoming games of 2015-2016 so why not make a list? |
I am a big fan of small development studios who put so much effort and heart into developing beautiful and amazing productions, so in my eyes the only fair way of reviewing upcoming games is by making two lists. One with those big players who everyone heard about, and another for smaller titles.
Indie Productions
Death's Gambit
Mix side scroller like classical Castlevania and and hella difficult action RPG like dark souls. Pixelate it, and what you will end up with is a very good looking medieval style world full of knights monsters and horrors. What more could you ask for?
Typoman
Typoman is a 2D puzzle platformer where you slip into a role of a hero facing a gloomy collapsing world. The most interesting thing about this title is the mechanics that you use to solve the puzzle. Add letters, make new words and change the game's environment to work your way through the game.
Guild of Dungeoneering
This one is a challenge to describe. Guild of Dungeoneering is a turn based dungeon crawler where you control the dungeon that your heroes are going through, all based on the cards you draw from your guilds deck. You are the one in control of rooms, monsters, bosses and of course loot you are going to get once you are done.
Moon Hunters
Set out as one of the chosen Children of moon and restore the balance in the world. On your way kill hundreds of mobs and bosses and create your own myth. Hack and slash in pixelated version. Works perfect for me!
GNOG
In GNOG you explore giant monster heads and find out secrets. All in colourful and vivid scenery Seems a bit like Fez (here) in 2d point and click perspective.
Big releases
Kingdom Hearts 3
Sora Goofy and Donald are back to roam around Disney worlds, kill heartless, collect keyblades and save every ones day! There is not much I can say about the story since Square Enix keeps its secrets, but I must be honest... I am excited. I just hope they will not add Frozen
Dishonored 2
I already uploaded the video for dishonored earlier (here). This time we can put ourselves in the skin of Corvo or Emily Kaldwin, the daughter of the empress form the first game. New powers, new Bone Charms, new enemies, new story. I wonder if this time they will let us play in the open world. Batman Arkham Knight Our favourite vigilant is back to stop the most evil masterminds in all of the Gotham. The last game of the trilogy is as the developers said was a last chance for them to show players what they learned with batman and create even better game. This time we will be set in an open city where super-villain like scarecrow, Penguin and Two-face took control and corrupted the streets. Now its out time to fight for justice and claim Gotham back.
Dark souls 3
Dark souls is coming back. Prepare to be irritated and die over and over again until you feel like you are going to collapse. Will you choose to save the world, rekindle the flame, delay the coming of the dark age or will you let the darkness fall? Either way "Praise The Sun!"
Rise of the Tomb Raider
I must admit I did not play the last Tomb Rider, but this one looks epic! From what the developers said in the interviews, this time Ms. Croft will run, jump, crawl and swim in even more realistic world full of traps, wild animals and bandits lurking in the old temples.
So those are the 10 games that made the biggest impression on me.
